The angelic voices of the Sunday School children of St. Peter Armenian Church echoed in the church's sanctuary on Sunday, December 24, 2017. The first ever Christmas Play featuring the talented Sunday School students drew much excitement as the young generation enthralled an audience of more than 100 people. The children who performed in the bilingual play reenacted the Miraculous Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The beautifully decorated Nativity scene included a manger, providing the spiritually enriching feeling of the Miraculous winter night in Bethlehem.

The jubilant faithful joined the children in singing such traditional Christmas carols as "Joy to the World," "Silent Night," "The First Noel," "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "We Three Kings."

The rousing performance of the Sunday School children earned them tremendous applause from the audience. The Sunday School teachers Seda Arustamyan, Ani Khachatryan and Marianna Hambardzumyan and their assistants Tanya and Ankeen were recognized by the Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan, Parish Priest, for their dedication and selfless service.

To the delight of the children, a surprise appearance was made by none other than Jolly Ol’ St. Nick, Santa Claus, who commended their tremendous performance, encouraged the children to continue furthering their Christian education and handed out special gifts to the future torchbearers of the Armenian Church.
