His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Santa Clarita on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
The Khachadourian Choir masterfully performed the hymns of the Divine Liturgy. Archbishop Derderian also met with the Saturday and Sunday School students, commending the youth’s zealous approach to the preservation of the Armenian identity and their keenness to Christian education studies.
The Primate also commended the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Fr. Serovpe Alanjian, noting the priest’s dedication, humble heart and love for the flock of Christ.
Following the service, a reception in honor of His Eminence was held in the church hall.
